Legal Requirements
To be able to drive a car you must be at least 17 years old and have a valid provisional driving licence. If you don't have one you can obtain an application form (D1) from either the DSA or your local post office. You can apply for a provisional licence up to 3 months before your 17 th birthday but you will not be able to drive until you reach 17.
